I have an ordering physician, which means I can run labs your doctor may never think to order. And unlike a 10-minute appointment where your results are handed to you with a "looks normal," I sit with you and go through everything — together.

In the ICU, I drew and analyzed labs around the clock. I know what a trending result means before it becomes a crisis. I know the difference between a "normal" lab value and an optimal one. Functional medicine casts a wider net — thyroid panels, hormones, inflammatory markers, micronutrients, GI stool testing, and more.

Nurses are the eyes and ears of the hospital. Doctors trust our clinical judgment because we see the blind spots they don't have time for. I communicate with your doctor on your behalf, equip you with the right questions, and make sure your care is actually coordinated.

Want to wean off your blood pressure medication? I won't touch that — that's your doctor's job. But I'll prepare you to walk in and ask for a real plan. We'll know what parameters they're looking for, and we'll be working the lifestyle side simultaneously so your body is ready when the time comes.

I provide personalized workout plans and nutrition macros — but I will never tell you to eat less. Your body doesn't feel safe to lose weight when it's stressed and starving. The more you eat (especially protein), the safer your body feels. That's not a motivational quote. That's biology.

The science, simply

When you starve yourself, your body burns glycogen first — stored carbs in your liver and muscles, lasting about 24–48 hours. Then fat. But chronic restriction signals danger, so your body clings to fat as protection and burns muscle instead. When you eat enough, your body feels safe. Safe bodies lose weight. Stressed bodies store it.

Mental health

Is it trauma — or is it food?

Anxiety, depression, ketamine integration — root cause always first

I take mental health from a bigger picture. Before we label something anxiety or depression and reach for a prescription, we ask: what else could be driving this? Gut health, food sensitivities, hormones, unresolved trauma, isolation — all of it gets looked at.

I also support clients through ketamine-assisted therapy (legal, and increasingly supported by research), and I'll help you find a therapist if you don't have one.

A 40-year-old client came to me for anxiety. Through an elimination diet — a functional medicine gold standard — we linked her anxiety directly to gluten. Had she gone to her doctor, she likely would have left with a prescription. Instead we removed the actual cause. Her anxiety resolved. So did her arthritis flare and allergy symptoms. Gluten was doing all of that — silently.

Hormones

You're not crazy. You're not dramatic. You're hormonal — and that's fixable.

Cycles, perimenopause, estrogen dominance — understood and supported

Women grow up being told that painful, heavy, and irregular cycles are just "normal." They're common. They are not normal. There's a difference — and that difference matters enormously.

The same goes for perimenopause. Hot flashes, mood shifts, sleep disruption, weight changes — you don't have to white-knuckle through it. When we understand what our feminine bodies are doing at each phase, we can support them differently. Estrogen dominance is rampant right now, largely because of the toxin load in everyday women's products. I educate you so you can make informed choices — not fear-based ones.

Budgeting, money mindset, spreadsheets — I make them so you don't have to fear them

Finances are health. Full stop. You cannot eat, exercise, or supplement your way out of nervous system dysregulation if you are living paycheck to paycheck or avoiding your bank account out of fear. I know that feeling — I've been there.

In our container, we figure out exactly where your money is going. I build the spreadsheets (yes, really — and they're simpler than you think). We work on money mindset alongside physical health. Because financial stress lives in the body just as much as emotional stress does.
